DAY 1: BAS RM123 *DuntDuntDunt!!*

I SEE GOOD THINGS FOR THIS SEMESTER...
As we got started with class I was very excited to have a professor with energy. There are not that many of them that I have encountered. I was always interested in the Arts my entire life. I've only taken Art once and that was in high school so this would definitely be a more mature experience I thought. And I was right. When I saw the picture of the urinal upside down and labeled as a fountain, I knew that I would experience a lot more abstract things in the art world thorough out the duration of this course. While I did think this would be my easy A I was proven wrong however not discouraged. I hope to learn a lot and become a more open minded person by the end of this semester. :]

  1. Hello Matyia, nice to meet you.

Duchamp's "Fountain" (urinal), Joseph Beuys, Dadaism, and the Fluxus movement all challenge the definition of art, which is - in simple terms - an objective of these movements. If your interested in art that makes you question its "artistic value", look at Joseph Beuys' work. I've learned a lot by pondering the concept of what defines art, yet I have no answers - only more questions.
